Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support for our furry friends. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about animal care and welfare. Shifts include a morning, evening, weekends, and Holidays. Shifts are divided with approximately 3 kennel technicians.
Responsibilities:
– Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel
– Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their individual needs
– Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas
– Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
– Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel
– Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
– Handle animals safely and securely during procedures or examinations
– Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications administered, and any observed changes in behavior or health
Duties also include- emptying trashes daily, laundry, washing dishes, and cleaning clinic floors.
Qualifications:
– Previous experience in animal care or related field preferred
– Knowledge of animal handling techniques and behavior
– Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks
– Basic understanding of dog training principles is a plus
– Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is beneficial
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Ability to work well in a team environment
