Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and possess strong customer service skills. This role involves assisting in the care and well-being of animals in our facility.
Duties:
– Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and exercising
– Clean and maintain kennels, cages, and animal living areas
– Monitor animal behavior and report any health concerns to management
– Assist with bathing and administering medications to animals
– Interact with pet owners and provide excellent customer service
– Assist in handling dogs of various sizes and breeds
– Maintain safe and professional working environment
Requirements:
– Must have reliable transportation
– Must be able to work weekends, additional hours may be available
– Previous experience in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or pet care environment is preferred
– Knowledge of basic animal care practices and procedures
– Ability to handle dogs safely and effectively
– Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach
– Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
– Certification as a Veterinary Assistant or related field is a plus
