Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and possess excellent customer service skills. This position involves caring for animals, assisting with different animal shelter duties, occasionally helping with can redemption.
Duties:
– Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and exercising
– Clean and maintain kennels, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment
– Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to the supervisor
– Handle animal restraint when necessary
– Assist with basic dog training exercises
Experience:
– Experience in animal handling and pet care
– Strong customer service skills
– Ability to handle dogs up to 150lbs
– Knowledge of veterinary technician practices is a plus
– Familiarity with kennel operations and dog handling is beneficial
