Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for pets including feeding, watering, exercise, and administering medications as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills
- Monitor pet behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or supervisors promptly
- Assist with pet boarding, grooming, and pet sitting services to meet client needs
- Support outdoor work activities such as walking dogs or cleaning outdoor enclosures
- Engage with pet owners in a friendly, professional manner to answer questions and provide updates on their pets’ well-being
Skills
- Experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, pet boarding facilities, or kennels is recommended
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques for dogs and other pets
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or assisting with animal restraint equipment
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Experience in pet grooming, pet sitting, or dog training is a plus
- Familiarity with kennel cleaning procedures and sanitization practices for pet care facilities
- Outdoor work experience that demonstrates stamina and reliability in various weather conditions
Pay: $10.00 – $12.00 per hour
