Duties
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercise, and administering medications as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and grooming
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and ensure their well-being at all times
- Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor activities to promote healthy behavior and comfort
- Monitor animal behavior to identify signs of stress or illness and report concerns promptly
- Support team lifting efforts when moving heavy supplies or equipment safely within the facility
- Engage with pet owners through friendly customer service, answering questions and providing updates on their pets’ status
Skills
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician background highly valued
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal handling enhances your ability to connect with pets effectively
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques ensures safe interactions
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions
- Skilled in cleaning, sanitization, and facility maintenance to uphold health standards
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with pet owners and visitors
- Pet grooming experience is a plus for maintaining pet hygiene and appearance
