We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kennel Attendant to join our animal care team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our furry residents. Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed
- Perform thorough animal handling and restraint to ensure safety during grooming, veterinary procedures, or routine checks
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas to promote hygiene and prevent illness
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and trimming fur to keep animals comfortable and looking their best
- Support veterinary staff with basic animal care duties, including monitoring health status and assisting during examinations or treatments
- Engage in dog training activities to promote good behavior and socialization among residents
- Offer pet sitting services by providing companionship and basic care for animals in the facility or during client visits
Experience
- Prior kennel or animal care experience preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling best practices is highly desirable
- Experience working with veterinary professionals or as a veterinary technician assistant is a plus
- Familiarity with pet grooming techniques and pet sitting responsibilities is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling supplies or moving animals
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
