Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to handle various breeds of dogs and other animals in a safe and nurturing environment. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and happiness of the animals in our care while providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed.
Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and address any questions or concerns.
Support dog training sessions by reinforcing positive behaviors and following training protocols.
Ensure that all animals receive proper socialization and interaction throughout the day.
Experience
Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Familiarity with veterinary practices, dog training techniques, or customer service is a plus.
Skills in animal restraint, pet grooming, or working as a veterinary technician are advantageous.
A strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques is essential for success in this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.99 – $19.62 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
