Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the pet care industry, a passion for animal care, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, administering medications, outings, walks, fetch sessions, nail trims and baths.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and kitty condos and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, adhere to daily schedule.
Utilize boarding and grooming software to make reservations, schedule appointments and take payment, respond to emails and take phone calls
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and behaviors.
Requirements
Previous experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred.
Knowledge of basic animal behavior and care practices.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners.
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical stamina to perform duties that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods including handling bags of dog food, water buckets, laundry etc.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
Experience as a veterinary assistant or technician, pet groomer, or dog trainer is a plus.
Candidates must be reliable, timely and have good communication skills.

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
