Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of dog handling and training. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care, maintaining cleanliness in the kennel environment, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Maintain cleanliness in all kennel areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to resort manager
Assist with dog training sessions as needed and provide guidance to pet owners.
Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
Interact with pet owners to provide updates on their pets and answer any questions.
Assist in heavy lifting tasks related to animal handling and kennel maintenance.
Qualifications
Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred, including roles such as kennel assistant or pet sitter.
Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus.
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) safely and effectively.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
A compassionate attitude towards animals and a commitment to their well-being.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
