Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Bather to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality bathing and grooming services to pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being. As a Pet Bather, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the hygiene and appearance of our furry clients while fostering a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
Duties
Gently bathe and rinse pets using appropriate techniques and products to ensure cleanliness without causing stress or discomfort.
Brush and dry pets after bathing, paying attention to their coat type and specific grooming needs.
Inspect pets for any skin issues, parasites, or abnormalities, reporting findings to the grooming team or veterinary staff as necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized bathing area, including sanitizing equipment and tools after each use.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and grooming requirements.
Assist in handling pets during grooming sessions, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
Collaborate with other team members to create a positive environment for both pets and staff.
Answering phones, making grooming appointments, checking messages on the hour.
Qualifications
Previous experience in animal handling is preferred; familiarity with pet grooming is a plus.
Knowledge of animal care practices, including basic health signs and behaviors.
Experience as a veterinary assistant, kennel worker, or in similar roles is advantageous.
Ability to handle various breeds of dogs and cats with patience and care.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
A passion for animals and commitment to providing exceptional care is essential.
Certification in dog training or experience in equine care is considered an asset but not mandatory.
Reception work; answering phones, making appointments, checking messages.
