Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, with a strong understanding of animal physiology and behavior. This role involves providing daily care for animals in our facility, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other animal housing facilities.
Assist in animal restraint during examinations or treatments.
Utilize knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy to support veterinary staff.
Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being
Requirements
Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry practices is essential.
Experience with dog handling and equine care is preferred.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus.
Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting animals when necessary.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
