Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
To qualify for this position you must be reliable, have previous animal experience, be able to multi-task and have excellent communication skills. Punctuality, Dependability, and Time Managment is a must.
Duties
Must be Reliable and to Work On Time.
Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, walking, and exercising.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinarian or kennel manager.
Assist with grooming tasks as needed, including bathing and brushing.
Provide excellent customer service to pet owners during drop-off and pick-up times.
Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and security.
Assist with heavy lifting of supplies or equipment when necessary.
Work with Avimark computer system and basic computer work
Experience
Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Experience in customer service is beneficial for interacting with pet owners.
Knowledge of veterinary practices or experience as a veterinary technician is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for the role.
A passion for pet care and a commitment to animal welfare are essential.
