Wisconsin Community Veterinary Center is hiring hard working animal lovers!
The position available is called Kennel/Pack. The job includes but is not limited to cleaning cat and dog kennels, assisting in animal restraint, walking dogs, laundry, cleaning surgical instruments, making surgical packs, cleaning up after surgeries and client interaction.
Must have animal handling experience, able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 40 pounds.
Shifts:
6 am to 3 pm Monday – Thursday
1 pm to 9 pm Monday – Thursday and Saturday 9 am – 5 pm
3 pm to 9 pm Monday – Thursday and Sunday 9 am – 5 pm
Overview of Job
Responsible for maintaining proper disease control protocols, including cleaning of facility, preparation of surgical packs, and laundry. Also responsible for the daily care of the animals that are staying at the clinic.
General Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning of kennels, cages and public areas, following proper disease control protocol to ensure a sterile environment.
Responsible for daily feeding and monitoring eating habits of all animals.
To observe animal appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness, disease and discontent.
Clean, disinfect and maintain kennels, cages, runs and stalls as often as is necessary to ensure no cages or kennels are soiled and odors are not apparent. Perform general cleaning in other areas of the hospital to control the spread of disease. Wash and sterilize water and food bowls.
Stock all kennel/cleaning supplies as needed
Spot clean kennels and public areas throughout the day
Clean surgical laundry, clean surgical instruments and prepare surgical packs
Clean, fold, and stock kennel laundry
Exercise all eligible dogs and to provide animal enrichment.
Perform needed cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and tools used in job assignments.
Maintain equipment used to complete job assignments and keep such equipment and tools in good working condition. Notifying management of major repairs needed or new equipment necessary to adequately complete assignments. Keep equipment and tools put away in proper storage areas and ensure they are properly labeled according to the specified room.
Handle animals as required and restrain animals.

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
