*Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and be committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals receive the highest standard of care. *Duties* – Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. – Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment. – Assist in the restraint and handling of animals during veterinary procedures or grooming. – Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. – Engage with pet owners, providing updates on their pets’ well-being and addressing any questions or concerns. – Support dog training programs as needed, reinforcing positive behaviors. – Assist with heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning supplies. – Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and health observations. *Requirements* – Experience in animal care or related fields such as pet sitting, dog training, or veterinary assistance is preferred. – Strong skills in animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both pets and staff. – Ability to perform heavy lifting as required in the care of larger breeds or equipment. – Knowledge of basic animal behavior and care practices is advantageous. – Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and pet owners. – A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare is essential. – Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
