Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess skills in animal handling, and basic veterinary practices. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work with various breeds and sizes of pets.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising them.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
Engage in pet training activities as needed to promote good behavior.
Support pet grooming tasks, including bathing.
Maintain accurate records of animal care routines and any incidents that occur.
Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of pet care are met.
Requirements
Experience in kennel work, pet sitting, or animal handling is preferred.
Knowledge of basic veterinary practices or experience as a veterinary technician is a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or moving equipment.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
