Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kennel Assistant to join our compassionate veterinary and boarding team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kennel environment. Your enthusiasm for animal welfare and strong work ethic will help ensure our furry boarding patients receive the highest quality of care while supporting the overall operations of our veterinary facility. Responsibilities
- Assist with animal intake, discharge, and daily care routines, ensuring animals are comfortable and well-cared for
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to minimize stress and injury
- Assist with pet care activities including feeding, medicating, bathing, and exercise
- Ensure compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols to maintain a safe working environment
- Experience
- Previous kennel or animal handling experience preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or veterinary assistant setting is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior enhances your ability to succeed in this role
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration are essential
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting animals and cleaning in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour
