C-SNIP is looking for a compassionate, responsible, self-motivating individual for a part-time afternoon position cleaning our dog kennels and assisting with cleaning and sanitizing the hospital.
This is a limited hours position with a schedule of approximately 4:00pm-6:00/7:00pm Monday thru Thursday. We are looking for an animal lover with excellent attention to detail. Previous experience with various sanitation protocols is helpful, but not required.
The kennel assistant is committed to providing the highest level of care by thoroughly sanitizing the environment for our daily in-house patients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Upholding safety and cleaning protocols by conscientiously cleaning and sanitizing dog kennels to prevent infectious disease
Washing, drying, and folding laundry
Cleaning surgical instruments
Assembling and sterilizing surgical packs
Assisting with afternoon pet release
Other tasks as assigned
Position Requirements
Passion for C-SNIP’s mission and the desire to provide the best environment for our patients
The ability to work efficiently without supervision after thorough and supportive training
Ability to learn basic veterinary medical concepts, including knowledge about spay/neuter, wellness, and basic pet care
Ability to accurately gather and relay information in a friendly and professional manner
Good communication skills – both individually and in a group setting
Enjoy being around dogs and cats
Accuracy and detail-orientation skills essential
Must be able to work standing, squatting, or sitting for 2 or more cumulative hours
Must be able to see fine detail in a variety of situations
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
