Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring pets’ health, well-being, and comfort in our boarding facility. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide food, water, and bedding to boarding animals and ensure their comfort at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a healthy environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of boarding pets and report any concerns to the veterinary staff immediately.
- Assist with administering medications as directed by the veterinary staff.
- Exercise and socialize with pets to ensure they receive adequate attention and care.
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing as needed.
- Perform check-ins and check-outs for boarding pets, ensuring all information is accurately recorded.
- Provide updates and communicate effectively with pet owners about their pet’s stay.
- Follow all safety and protocol guidelines to prevent escape or injury of pets.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour
