Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in our facility, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area by performing regular cleaning and sanitization tasks.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary technician or management.
Assist with animal restraint during grooming or medical procedures as needed.
Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets and address any questions or concerns.
Support dog training sessions by following established protocols and assisting trainers as required.
Ensure all animals are handled safely and humanely while maintaining a calm environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience in pet sitting, kennel work, or animal care is preferred.
Knowledge of basic animal handling techniques and animal behavior.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Familiarity with veterinary technician duties is a plus but not required.
Willingness to learn about pet grooming techniques and dog training methods.
Physical ability to lift and handle animals of various sizes safely.
