Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring the well-being of all animals in our care.
Duties
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising pets.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kennels and common areas.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist with animal restraint during grooming or medical procedures.
Support pet grooming activities as needed.
Handle various breeds of dogs and other animals with confidence and care.
Engage in pet sitting duties when required, ensuring pets receive individual attention.
Perform heavy lifting tasks as necessary, including moving supplies or equipment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of animal care are met.
Qualifications
Previous experience in veterinary settings or animal handling is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with animal restraint techniques is beneficial.
Strong skills in pet care, including dog handling and basic grooming knowledge.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with animal care.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
