Goshen Animal Clinic is seeking a dedicated full-time Kennel Assistant to join our compassionate team in Prospect, KY, a charming suburb of Louisville. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Animal handling and restraint
Walk animals that may need support/assistance
Knowledge of basic husbandry/feeding/and nutrition
Administer medication to patients
Maintain cleanliness of boarding area and clinic
Restock and organize kennel supplies
Bathe/groom animals
Continue to advance knowledge base and skill set
Other duties as assigned
Schedule:
This is a 40-hour per week position
Our facility is open 7 days per week, including holidays
Weekends are required (on rotation)
Holidays are required (on rotation)
Skills and Qualifications:
Professional experience in a veterinary clinical setting (CSR, kennel attendant, vet assistant, other), preferred
Excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve
Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize tasks effectively
Team player, have patience and maintain a positive attitude
Must be able to lift and/or carry and restrain pets of at least 50 pounds
Tolerate walking up/down stairs multiple times per hour
Tolerate standing for long periods at a time
