Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for pet owners. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle various breeds and sizes of animals.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
Maintain cleanliness in kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist with animal restraint during grooming or medical procedures as needed.
Interact with pet owners, providing information about services and addressing any questions or concerns.
Support the veterinary team with basic tasks as required, including assisting in examinations or treatments.
Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or larger animals as necessary.
Experience
Previous experience in pet care, veterinary settings, or related fields is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with animal handling techniques and knowledge of various breeds is a plus.
Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and maintain physical stamina throughout shifts.
Experience in pet sitting, grooming, or working in a kennel environment is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour
