Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, ensuring that all pets in our facility receive the highest level of attention and care. This role involves working closely with dogs and cats of all sizes, as well as occasionally Guniea pigs, rabbits, and other small creatures, providing them with a safe, loving, and clean environment, and assisting with their daily needs. You will feed them, let them out, play with them, and clean up accidents!
Hours are typically 6am-2pm or 5pm-7pm, with you occasionally being required to do both sets of rounds. You will work weekends often, as well as most Mondays and Thursdays. Holidays are also required, however we typically split up who works those days so everyone only works a few hours!​
We’re a fun and relaxed work environment, and although fast paced when busy, we give you breaks to make sure you’re not too stressed. We typically have snacks and bottles of water, as well as coffee and tea for everyone.

Duties
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising dogs and other pets.
Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by cleaning stalls, kennels, and common areas.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the management immediately.
Assist in grooming pets as needed, including bathing if needed, however this typically isnt needed often.
Handle animals safely and use common sense and our training to keep yourself and animals safe.
Conduct tours of our facility, as well as well as check in clients and return their calls.
Book client appointments daily.
We start you at $14/hr for while you’re in training, which typically lasts one to two weeks. Immediately upon finishing training you’ll automatically be given a raise to $18/hr!
Requirements
Previous experience is nice but not necessary. Feel free to apply with no prior experience!
Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) short distances when carrying dog food or cat litter.
Strong communication skills to interact with our clients, including giving tours of our facilities and returning calls
A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is an *absolute must*!
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
