Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant/Technician to join our team. You will play a vital role in providing care and support for our furry friends. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of the kennel area, feeding and exercising animals, and assisting with basic grooming tasks. In addition to your hourly pay, you have the opportunity to earn significant income in tips and commissions. Average technician is making an additional $2-3 per hour in tips and commissions.
Duties:
– Provide excellent customer service to pet owners
– Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
– Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
– Exercise dogs by walking or playing with them in designated areas
– Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
– Assist with basic grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
– Monitor the behavior and health of animals in your care
– Handle animals safely and appropriately to ensure their well-being
– Maintain accurate records of animal care activities
Requirements:
-You must have your own transportation
– Previous experience in customer service or pet care is preferred
– Knowledge of basic animal handling techniques is required
– Ability to work well in a team environment
– Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
– Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for long periods of time
– Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
