MAIN MISSION
• The Dog Master responsible in overseeing the training, deployment, and management of K9 teams for security purposes.
• This role involves working closely with K9 handlers, supervising training exercises, maintaining K9 health and welfare, and ensuring the effectiveness of K9 operations within the organization.
• He/She reports to the COO.
MAIN TASKS / JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations of the K9 unit, including scheduling deployments, overseeing training sessions, and monitoring K9 performance and productivity.
• Assist in developing and implementing training programs for K9 handlers and dogs, focusing on obedience, detection, patrol work, and specialized skills based on operational requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to K9 handlers in handling and caring for their assigned K9 handlers, ensuring proper bonding, training reinforcement, and health maintenance of the K9s.
• Monitor the health and well-being of K9s within the unit, coordinate veterinary care and wellness programs, and ensure compliance with vaccination and hygiene standards.
• Manage inventory of K9 equipment, supplies, and vehicles, coordinate maintenance and repair services, and procure new equipment as necessary to support K9 operations.
MAIN AREAS OF JOB PERFORMANCE
• Monitor the health and well-being of K9s within the unit, coordinate veterinary care and wellness programs, and ensure compliance with vaccination and hygiene standards.
• Manage inventory of K9 equipment, supplies, and vehicles, coordinate maintenance and repair services, and procure new equipment as necessary to support K9 operations.
• The Dog Master is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of training programs.
• Report to the HR department on staff absences.
• Follow up on staff training progress.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
– Professional background and training
• Prior experience as a K9 handler or in a related law enforcement or security role.
• Knowledge of K9 training techniques, behavior modification, and handling procedures.
• Certification in K9 handling or training programs preferred.
• Ability to handle and train K9s with different temperaments and skill sets.
• Understanding of security protocols, regulations, and standards related to K9 operations.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments and weather conditions.
• Physically and mentally fit.

• Extensive Proficiency in using training software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

• Strong leadership and communication skills to work effectively with K9 handlers, team members, and stakeholders.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
