We are looking for a Junior Site Veterinarian for Immediate Employment subject to obtention of an Occupational Permit from the Economic Development Board (EDB) of Mauritius.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Contributes to the work necessary for maintaining our accreditations in line with latest requirements and guidelines and in collaboration with management, veterinarians and supervisors.

· Provides veterinary care across the different sites and maintains the sanitary status in all housing zones in accordance with the company’s quality manual and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

·  Monitors, records and controls the use of drugs and veterinary consumables in line with the SOPs.

·  Works in close cooperation with the Site Management team and supervises the staff assigned to you.

·  Ensures that all veterinary and animal welfare procedures are complied with and that these high-quality standards are maintained at all times.

·  Supervises, monitors and reports on all veterinary activities on a daily basis, as well as monitors animal movements, ensuring strict recording of details in line with the company’s SOPs and quality objectives.

·  Participates in the development of training programs and trains all employees involved in veterinary and husbandry work.

·  Works in close collaboration with management to effectively audit and implement corrective actions for all standard operating procedures, in line with the quality assurance program.

·   Provides the necessary support for the procurement of animals.

·  Additional responsibilities include monitoring and documenting animal behaviour, conducting health assessments, administering therapies, performing surgeries and necropsies in accordance with established veterinary protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

·   Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent veterinary qualification.

·   Holder of a valid driving license.

·   Practical experience in veterinary diagnosis, treatment, and preventive healthcare.

·   Experience maintaining accurate veterinary records and reports.

·   Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

·   Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
