RENECO's mission is to implement a global conservation strategy aiming to restore and preserve the Houbara bustard populations of North Africa (Chlamydotis undulata) and Asia (Chlamydotis macqueenii).
To achieve these goals, RENECO has developed a multidisciplinary approach within different centers in Morocco, Central Asia, and the Arabian Peninsula by combining fundamental and applied research.
To cope with the expansion of its activities and due to the development of new conservation projects, RENECO is opening new positions in Morocco and Kazakhstan, giving a unique opportunity to be part of an ambitious conservation program.
This opportunity is based at our Breeding Center in Kazakhstan, where the successful candidate will join our captive breeding team and receive training in houbara breeding and conservation techniques.
Your main missions will be:
- Securing and guaranteeing the implementation of breeding phases to achieve production objectives according to the Conservation Breeding Division (CBD) guidelines (what?) and the Centre Management Division (CMD) framework (How?).
- Ensuring that the breeding fundamentals are respected as per the protocols established.
- Facilitating the communication between the project and CMD management, ensuring the smooth exchange of information.
- Monitoring the compliance of the means available on site to reach targets and advising the CMD for modifications or improvements to be done (Infrastructure/personnel/equipment, etc.).
- In charge of staff capacity building (Evaluation of employees, organization of training sessions, team management, and schedule supervision).
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree specialized in Agronomy, Agriculture, animal production, or Agro-development, or any relevant field.
- First experience with animal husbandry or care is required, preferably with birds.
- Knowledge of Breeding Techniques, Disease Recognition, and Basic Veterinary Skills.
- Diet and Nutrition Management skills.
- Understanding the ethical considerations and conservation status of various species, especially when working with endangered or exotic birds.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- English language is required; Russian or French will be an asset.
- Willing to relocate to Kazakhstan.
