The successful candidate may be offered a position in either the Irrigation Technician I or the Irrigation Technician II classification. The range for the Irrigation Technician I is $18.58 – $21.37 per hour; and for the Irrigation Technician II is $20.48 – $23.56 per hour.

Summary of

Duties

:

Under basic supervision, the Irrigation Technician I trains and assists in the maintenance, installation, and renovation of irrigation systems on parks, public building grounds, medians, and athletic fields.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

This is the entry-level classification in the Irrigation Technician series. The incumbent follows routine procedures and guidelines in the application of prescribed duties and works under basic supervision with work occasionally reviewed by a superior. This classification is distinguished from the Irrigation Technician II in that the latter performs more complex technical duties requiring a higher level of knowledge and skill.

Examples of ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
