Twyford International Kenya Ltd. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Installation Training Promotion Manager to lead the company’s installation training, technical promotion, installer development, and product application initiatives for Twyford and Micasso tiles and paving products.

The role will be responsible for developing installation standards and training programs, building and managing installer networks, conducting practical product demonstrations, providing technical support to customers and project sites, and promoting correct installation practices to strengthen product quality, customer satisfaction, and brand reputation.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on tile installation knowledge, training and leadership experience, communication skills, and the ability to promote technical products effectively to installers, contractors, dealers, developers, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation Standards & Training System Development

  • Develop and continuously improve installation standards, methods, checklists, training materials, and operating procedures for Twyford and Micasso products.
  • Establish standardized installation practices covering surface preparation, setting out, cutting, adhesive or bedding application, alignment, levelling, spacing, grouting, joint treatment, cleaning, finishing, and handover.
  • Develop specialized installation procedures and training standards for large-format and big-size tiles, particularly 60×120 cm and above.
  • Ensure training content and installation methods comply with the technical requirements and recommended applications of Twyford and Micasso products.
  • Identify common installation defects and develop practical corrective and preventive measures.

2. Installer Training & Development

  • Develop and manage a structured installer training program for fundis, tile installers, contractors, dealers, developers, site teams, and other construction professionals.
  • Organize and conduct practical, hands-on installation training and workshops.
  • Develop training modules covering tile laying, paving installation, large-format tile handling, product application, finishing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Establish installer competency assessment and certification procedures.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of qualified installers trained in Twyford and Micasso installation standards.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and continuously improve training programs based on participant feedback and field performance.

3. Product Demonstration & Technical Promotion

  • Lead technical product demonstrations at training centres, showrooms, dealer locations, construction sites, exhibitions, and customer events.
  • Demonstrate the correct application and installation of Twyford and Micasso tiles and paving products.
  • Promote the technical benefits, correct application, quality, and value of company products to installers, contractors, developers, dealers, and customers.
  • Support product launches, marketing campaigns, exhibitions, trade fairs, and promotional events with technical installation demonstrations.
  • Develop practical demonstration areas and installation displays that showcase correct product application.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Sales teams to integrate installation training into product promotion activities.

4. Technical Site Support

  • Conduct site visits to provide technical support to customers, contractors, dealers, developers, and installers.
  • Provide guidance on product selection, surface preparation, installation methods, large-format tile handling, and troubleshooting.
  • Inspect installations and identify workmanship or application-related defects.
  • Recommend corrective actions and provide practical guidance to installers and site teams.
  • Support the Sales and Customer Service teams in resolving installation-related customer complaints.
  • Prepare technical site visit reports and maintain records of recurring installation challenges.

5. Installer Network & Market Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with professional tile installers, contractors, developers, dealers, and construction companies.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the company’s installer training and technical promotion network.
  • Organize installer engagement programs, technical workshops, product demonstrations, and industry events.
  • Monitor market practices and competitor installation training or technical promotion activities.
  • Gather market feedback from installers and contractors and communicate insights to Sales, Marketing, Product, and Management teams.
  • Identify opportunities to increase product adoption through installer education and technical engagement.

6. Installation Quality & Technical Standards

  • Monitor installations to ensure compliance with approved company standards.
  • Conduct installation audits and quality inspections where required.
  • Track common installation defects and develop strategies to reduce recurring issues.
  • Establish practical quality control measures for tile and paving installation.
  • Ensure installers understand correct handling, cutting, placement, levelling, alignment, spacing, grouting, and finishing requirements.
  • Promote proper installation practices to minimize product-related complaints caused by incorrect workmanship.

7. Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead and manage the Installation Training and Promotion team.
  • Develop departmental objectives, work plans, KPIs, and performance targets.
  • Plan and allocate training, demonstration, and site support activities.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to improve their technical and promotional capabilities.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure timely execution of planned activities.
  • Promote professionalism, teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

8. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Quality, Showroom, Customer Service, and Operations teams.
  • Provide technical support for sales presentations, product launches, showroom activities, exhibitions, and promotional campaigns.
  • Coordinate with Sales teams to support key customers, major projects, contractors, and dealers.
  • Provide technical input into marketing content, product demonstrations, installation guides, and promotional materials.
  • Represent the company during technical seminars, contractor meetings, industry events, and customer engagements.

9. Reporting & Performance Management

  • Establish KPIs for installation training, installer development, technical promotion, site support, and customer engagement.
  • Prepare monthly and periodic reports on training activities, number of installers trained, site visits, demonstrations, technical complaints, and market feedback.
  • Analyze training and technical service results and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of trained installers, training activities, technical issues, and corrective actions.
  • Report market and technical insights to senior management.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Building Technology, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in construction, tile installation, technical training, or marketing will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in tile installation, construction, building materials, technical training, sales promotion, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Strong hands-on experience in tile laying and paving installation.
  • Demonstrated experience training or supervising tile installers, fundis, contractors, dealers, or construction teams.
  • Experience with large-format tiles, particularly 60×120 cm and above, is highly preferred.
  • Experience in product promotion, technical sales support, demonstrations, or dealer engagement will be an added advantage.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong practical knowledge of tile and paving installation.
  • Strong knowledge of large-format tile installation and handling.
  • Excellent training, presentation, and demonstration skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials and their applications.
  • Ability to diagnose installation defects and provide practical solutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preparation of professional reports and presentations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to project sites, showrooms, dealers, and training locations.
