Role Description The Information Technology Support Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Mauritius. This role is responsible for providing first- and second-level technical support to internal users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. The technician will install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, operating systems, and standard business applications, ensuring systems are secure, updated, and functioning efficiently. Daily activities include responding to support tickets, documenting incidents and resolutions, assisting with user onboarding, managing user accounts and access rights, and coordinating with external vendors when needed. The technician will also support routine backups, basic server and network monitoring, and contribute to IT process improvements and user training.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical support skills, including troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Proficiency with operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and common business applications such as office productivity suites.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and network security best practices.
  • Experience with user account management, permissions, and simple directory or email administration.
  • Ability to document issues and solutions clearly, follow IT procedures, and maintain accurate asset and inventory records.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with effective communication skills and the ability to support users with varying technical abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certification or training (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent) is preferred; a diploma or degree in Information Technology or a related field is an advantage.
