Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), ICU/Treatment Technical Manager —
Location:
Ottawa, Ontario. Full-time position in the ICU/Treatment department at Alta Vista Specialty & Emergency. Compensation: $29.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
Schedule:
8 to 10 hour shifts with a mix of daytime, evenings and weekends. Work with DVMs and board-certified specialists in a collaborative environment, with opportunities for mentorship and additional training.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the ICU/Treatment department support teams; provide guidance to improve patient care and department efficiency.
- Maintain detailed and organized medical records.
- Deliver compassionate care for hospitalized patients and support for pet parents.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and coordinate care as needed.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, including asking clarifying questions to facilitate effective solutions.
- Collaborate with veterinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Veterinary Technician program (RVT).
- Strong leadership abilities to oversee ICU/Treatment department support teams.
- Ability to keep detailed and organized records.
- Compassionate care for hospitalized patients and pet parents.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems; ask clarifying questions when needed.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and clients.
- Desire to learn and grow within the role.
