Role Description The Human Resources Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Mogadishu, responsible for supporting and enhancing PureMaydi’s people operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing HR policies and procedures, maintaining employee records, overseeing recruitment processes, and supporting the development of clear job descriptions across the organization. The role involves managing employee relations, addressing workplace issues, and providing guidance to managers and team members on HR best practices. The Human Resources Officer also assists with onboarding, performance management coordination, and compliance with relevant labor regulations. This position collaborates closely with leadership to foster a positive, inclusive work environment aligned with PureMaydi’s mission and values.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, including day-to-day HR operations and coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of HR Policies and compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, employee engagement, and workplace communication.
  • Experience in Job Description Development and supporting recruitment, onboarding, and role clarity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and interact effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Proficiency in common HR software or HRIS tools and basic office applications.
  • Professional fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in mission-driven, sustainability-focused, or international trade environments is beneficial.
