Eljada Aftercare, a programme of BADISA, has a vacancy for a House-Parent.
Purpose Of The Position
The House-Parent is responsible for the general supervision and care (physical and emotional) of all clients. The incumbent will also ensure that all residents live in a safe, caring and friendly environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical care (e.g. bathing and showering), with continuous observation of clients’ physical wellbeing.
- Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure the safety of clients.
- Contribute to a positive client experience by helping to create a supportive and nurturing environment.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of residents’ rooms.
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Participate in activities during weekends.
- Provide supervision during weekends.
Requirements
- Relevant experience working within an intellectual disability care environment.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Knowledge and experience in medical, emotional and physical care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
- Valid driver’s licence (non-negotiable).
- This position requires the successful candidate to reside on the premises.
