Job Summary
We are a holistic veterinary practice in La Crescenta (www.holistikavet.com) looking for a veterinary assistant who can also help with social media.
The job would include 3 days at the clinic (generally Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) which would be primarily vet assistant duties, with 1 day a week (usually Monday) working from home helping to create social media posts.
Wednesdays and weekends off.
If you have social media experience but have always wanted to learn to work with animals and have an interest in learning about (and teaching about) holistic treatments, this would be a good fit! While veterinary experience is preferred, we are able to train you with that. Must be comfortable with animal restraint.
We are a small clinic that also feels like a small family. On clinic days, we all work together and each person is responsible for every job. The clinic is in a house converted to a commercial space, so it is more relaxing and peaceful than working at a regular vet clinic. Quality of life for my staff is very important to me – so I honor all vacation day requests (as long as I know a few weeks in advance) for any time that you would like to take off.
Our receptionist works from home so no answering of phones (except when she is not available) and most client communication takes place in person.
The job consists primarily of:
-holding/ restraining pets for blood draws and acupuncture/ laser
-Creating estimates/ invoices and charging clients out
-Some in person client communication
-Helping with morning and evening cleanup
-Helping take notes on patients
-Helping with ordering and restocking
All interviews take place at the clinic and are paid working interviews ($20 per hour). Interviews generally last about 2 hours.
Hours and work schedule: We are open 3 days a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (and occasional Monday) from 10am – 6pm. There is a one hour lunchtime from 1-2pm.
Social Media tasks: When appropriate, I will ask you to take short video clips or photos of animal patients. Must have some comfort level with Canva, Capcut or similar basic software for generating instagram +/- youtube clips. On Mondays, we will meet virtually to discuss a few social media posts to create for that week.
Preference given to those with an interest in holistic treatments.
