We are seeking a Health and Nutrition Manager to join our International Projects team in Unity State, South Sudan. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan’s Purse are to help people in Jesus’ name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Health and Nutrition Manger, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
- Lead the technical and operational management of all emergency health and nutrition activities, ensuring medicines, trainings, and nutrition commodities reach clinics and other partners as schedule.
- Directly supervises field health- and nutrition-program staff, providing hands-on technical guidance, training, and support while overseeing accurate data collection and reporting for internal and donor requirements.
- Act as the organization’s liaison with local governments, NGOs, and sector partners (WASH, FSL, FA), integrating cross-cutting health and nutrition principles into broader programming and representing Samaritan’s Purse
- Develop and refine project proposals, budgets, and purchase requests that align with donor specifications and international health standards, continuously seeking opportunities to improve and expand program impact
- Spend extensive time in field sites conducting assessments, identifying implementation gaps, and assisting teams with logistics, reporting, and training needs to ensure mission-driven, life-saving services reach those in crisis.

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Nursing Degree from an accredited medical school and a valid license to practice as a registered nurse or clinical officer and two (2) to three (3) years’ medical experience (preferably pediatric and/or emergency medicine) three (3) or more years’ experience working in emergency response health and nutrition programming required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One (1) to two (2) years’ international public health experience, preferably in nutrition programming, strongly preferred.
- Ability to develop health and nutrition program proposals and budgets
- Ability to keep communication lines open with all parties in program and navigate scheduling changes
- Ability to coordinate activities with other agencies, and build and maintain positive working relationships
- Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
