We are seeking a Health and Nutrition Technical Lead to join our International Projects team in Juba, South Sudan. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan’s Purse are to help people in Jesus name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Health and Nutrition Technical Lead, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
- Lead multisector health and nutrition assessments with SamaritansPurse technical leads and partners, documenting findings to shape program design and implementation.
- Develop response plans, budgets, and fundraising tools (concept notes, proposals, donor reports) that support SouthSudans overall strategy and meet international humanitarian standards.
- Create technical standards, training materials, standard operating procedures, and emergency response plans; assist program managers in crafting detailed implementation, budget, procurement, and MEAL plans.
- Oversee timely, highquality delivery of activities, ensuring sound procurement, supplychain oversight, and valueformoney management of medicines and nutrition supplies.
- Drive learning and accountability by assessing team capacity, coaching staff, documenting lessons and best practices, and integrating feedback through interagency coordination forums.

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelors degree in public health, health science, nutrition, or a related field and five (5) years of international work experience in East/Central Africa; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A masters degree in Public Health with a medicine background and at least 3 years of experience as a technical advisor is highly preferred.
- Management and capacity building experience of national staff in non-governmental organizational programming is strongly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of development of health and nutrition programming
- Thorough knowledge of participatory methods to engage local communities in needs assessments, design, and implementation of local, culturally acceptable health and nutrition interventions
- Comprehensive knowledge of monitoring & evaluation systems in large complex programs
- Ability to work with flexibility and be accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances
- In-depth knowledge of program development, management, monitoring and evaluation, community development/mobilization, and grant writing.
- Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies is strongly preferred.
