About the Role:Â Â
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Technology to join Vetstream to fully enable the opportunities of Vetlexicon and our partner brands. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of our technology systems and processes. You will play a critical role in rebuilding the Vetlexicon system architecture to make the business fit for the future. This is a full-time role that requires the individual to be office-based with the core team on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, working remotely on Mondays and Fridays.Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
Develop and execute the technology strategy aligned with business goals to move the business forward.Â
Launch our AI products working directly with third-party developers and specialists within the veterinary sector.Â
Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable and reliable software solutions in collaboration with third-party agencies and suppliers.Â
Oversee the management and optimization of IT infrastructure and systems.Â
Provide technical leadership and guidance to all relevant teams, ensuring best practices in software development and engineering.Â
Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Adopting best practice and innovation.Â
Own the technical stability of all of the digital platforms. Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of technology systems.Â

Key Requirements:Â
Proven experience in a technology leadership role for over 7 years, with proven successful delivery.Â
Expertise in software development, system architecture, and IT infrastructure management. Either directly building or through others bringing products and services to market.Â
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, DevOps practices and System administration requirements, management and needs.Â
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.Â
Experience operating at a board level or business ownership level.Â
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.Â
Excellent organisation and project delivery through well-developed project delivery methods.Â
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and Google products.Â
People management experienceÂ
Experience of managing, reporting and owning a technology budgetÂ
Â
Nice to have:Â
Active participation within advanced technology forums and knowledge sharing platforms, events and activities.Â
Basic coding ability in 2 languages would be advantageousÂ
