Head Groundsman Profile and Qualities
The Assistant Head Groundsman will possess the following attributes, among others:

Self-motivated
Proactive with a
hands-on
approach
Strong interest in the development of the grounds
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within a reputable organization
Proficient manager of both people and situations with strong
leadership
skills
Ability to take on responsibility and make prompt, accurate decisions
Logical and detail-oriented with a rational mindset
Unlikely to be younger than 25 years old
Knowledgeable in horticulture, turf management, and irrigation systems
Certified at NVQ Level 3, preferably Level 4, or hold an HND in a related field
Possess PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying licenses
Additional qualifications like a tractor license, health and safety certification, chainsaw operation, and first aid training are desirable
Valid driver’s license
Proficient in using computers
Principal Responsibilities
Assist the grounds maintenance department at Smith’s Lawn during the polo season as directed by the Head Groundsman Other Responsibilities
