Position: Grounds Laborer 2-U, Blue Ash Campus
Perform routine, grounds maintenance functions and/or general labor on all University of Cincinnati buildings and facilities.
Essential Functions
- Perform general grounds keeping and/or maintenance worker functions such as mowing, trimming and edging lawns; watering lawns and flower beds; trimming trees, shrubs and bushes; seeding and sowing lawns; assisting with planting shrubs and plants.
- Keep university grounds clean by picking up papers and other debris and operating equipment to clean sidewalks, steps, patios and parking lots.
- Perform routine laboring and maintenance duties, including removal of snow and ice from building walkways and steps, raking leaves, setting up chairs, tables, stages and platforms, sweeping and cleaning floors, windows and walls, loading and unloading trucks or vehicles, repairing fences, graffiti removal and power washing.
- May plant trees, shrubs and other plants.
- May perform general routine maintenance and/or minor repairs of grounds equipment such as cleaning, painting, oiling and sharpening.
- Maintain workspace conditions as prescribed by area.
- Upon request, work during inclement weather conditions or emergencies.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need; this job description may be changed at any time.
Required EducationRequired Trainings/Certifications
Current valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Required Experience
One year of experience working in commercial grounds.
