Located in a stunning urban oasis in Eagan, Minnesota, Caponi Art Park is a distinctive nonprofit community space. Our mission is to restore and nurture the human spirit through art, nature, and community. We do this by offering a variety of arts performances and public events, as well as educational tours and workshops, using the beauty and serenity of the natural world as the backdrop to it all.
Summary:
The role of this part-time seasonal position is to care and maintain the grounds and art works in Caponi Art Park.
Responsibilities:
Lawn care – mowing, trimming, and upkeep
Landscape maintenance – care of perennial and native gardens, planting, weeding etc.
Oversight of gardening volunteers
Help with special projects such as sculpture care, installing new sculptures
Storm clean-up
Leaf removal
Parking lot and trail maintenance
Minor equipment maintenance
Experience and Qualifications:
Required
Work independently and manage work hours to complete daily activities
Establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and the general public
Physically able to perform all essential position functions and job duties assigned in a variety of weather conditions. This will require walking, bending, stooping, lifting, and moving unassisted over uneven ground and up and down stairs
Lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Operate power equipment including weed cutter, chainsaw, and lawn mower
Have reliable transportation or the ability to be physically present at the park on a regular basis; a valid driver’s license is required to operate golf carts
Preferred

Enjoys working outdoors
A good mechanical aptitude
Personal engagement with an artistic practice of any kind
Animal friendly (must be animal tolerant at a minimum)
