The groundperson is responsible for gathering and feeding brush & debris into a wood chipper, scanning areas for trip and fall hazards, and ensuring other workers stay out of the path of travel. This position also involves maintaining equipment and materials.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Operate chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
Drag, gather, and feed brush into the wood chipper.
Service and maintain vehicles and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older.
Education
& Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Pre-Screen
Subject to pre-employment drug screening, background, and MVR check.
License &
Certifications:
Driver’s License preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Rare (less than 10%):
Sitting, crawling, climbing poles, color vision, ladder and stairs climbing.
Occasional (up to 33%):
Stooping, kneeling, twisting, touch, vehicle entry/exit, gripping, lifting (10-50 lbs), reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, ladder climbing, balancing.
Frequent (up to 66%):
Standing, walking, manual dexterity, distant and near vision, reading, range of motion, hearing, depth perception, stairs, lifting up to 10 lbs.
Continuous (up to 100%):
Touch, gripping, seeing, carrying, pulling.
Safety:
Employees must have good eyesight, attention, endurance for weather, ability to wear PPE, perform duties over long hours, communicate effectively, and handle confrontations professionally. Work involves hazardous equipment, noise, weather exposure, uneven terrain, and falling limbs.
Work around hazardous equipment and noise with hearing protection.
Work in all weather conditions, in nature, with potential irritants and insects.
Work on unlevel ground and around falling limbs with protection.
