The City of Ankeny is seeking an individual to assist in maintaining the golf course and surrounding grounds at Otter Creek Golf Course.
Position Details
Starting wage: $18.00/hour
Working hours:6am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday, with some required overtime for weekend work.
Employment period: Begins as soon as possible and ends in mid-November 2025.
Pre-employment drug screening and background check are required.

Responsibilities
Irrigation repair and maintenance of irrigation systems.
Changing pin locations.
Performing landscaping tasks as directed, including mowing, string trimming, and raking sand traps.
Conducting regular inspections, trash pickup, and debris removal on the golf course grounds.
Assisting in building maintenance to keep structures and grounds clean and presentable.
Other grounds maintenance activities as needed.
Qualifications
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods under adverse weather conditions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Iowa.
Work Environment
Work in extreme weather conditions.
Work in a field environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be insurable.
Must have adequate vision.
Must be able to hear normal conversation.
Must speak clearly at a normal conversational rate.
Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, walk, and climb.
Must be able to work in wet or dry trenches.
Must be able to move up and down ladders and walk over uneven terrain.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and carry objects for short distances.
Must maintain regular and reliable attendance.
