Nestled within a private game reserve just minutes from Victoria Falls, Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel offers an intimate luxury safari experience where exceptional service, conservation, and authentic African hospitality come together.
We are seeking an experienced, commercially astute and inspirational General Manager to lead this prestigious boutique property into its next chapter of excellence. The Role
Reporting to the Regional leadership team, the General Manager has full responsibility for the strategic, financial and operational leadership of the hotel and private reserve hospitality operations.
Working closely with the ownership group and regional office, the successful candidate will ensure the property consistently delivers an exceptional luxury guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence, sustainability, conservation and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Providing inspirational leadership across all hotel and lodge operations.
- Creating exceptional guest experiences that reflect the Anantara brand promise and exceed guest expectations.
- Leading the day-to-day management of the boutique hotel, guest activities and safari experience, ensuring seamless coordination between accommodation, food and beverage, front office, housekeeping, maintenance, security and game reserve operations.
- Ensuring the highest standards of luxury boutique hotel presentation, service delivery, safety and guest satisfaction throughout the property.
- Driving commercial success through effective revenue management, sales initiatives, cost control and asset management.
- Preparing and delivering annual business plans, budgets and strategic objectives while achieving agreed financial targets.
- Developing, coaching and mentoring a high-performing leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Working closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to strengthen the property's market position and maximise occupancy, ADR and overall profitability.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with owners, travel partners, tour operators, DMCs, local communities, conservation stakeholders and government authorities.
- Championing sustainability, responsible tourism and conservation initiatives that enhance both the guest experience and the long-term preservation of the reserve.
- Ensuring compliance with all legal, health, safety, environmental and brand standards.
- Acting as an ambassador for Anantara Stanley & Livingstone within the local community and international luxury travel market.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an engaging, hands-on and visible leader who is passionate about luxury hospitality, wildlife tourism and developing exceptional teams.
You Will Possess
- A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Management or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8–10 years' senior leadership experience within luxury hotels, safari lodges or boutique resorts, including previous experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager or Lodge Manager.
- Demonstrated success managing boutique luxury properties with a strong focus on personalised guest experiences.
- Experience operating within private game reserves or safari lodge environments, with a sound understanding of lodge operations and guest activity management.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with a proven ability to achieve revenue, profitability and operational performance targets.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching and people development skills with a passion for building engaged, high-performing teams.
- Outstanding guest engagement, communication and relationship management abilities.
- Experience working within an international luxury hospitality brand will be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of revenue management, luxury sales and distribution channels.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on operational leadership style.
- A genuine passion for conservation, sustainable tourism and community engagement.
