NARCOOSSEE ANIMAL HOSPITAL – Full Time Veterinary Technician
Narcoossee Animal Hospital is currently seeking a full-time veterinary technician to join our amazing team. Our full-service, privately owned practice is located in the beautiful city of Saint Cloud, Florida. As an animal hospital, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality medical care to our patients, while also ensuring that our clients receive the compassion, support, and guidance needed to maintain quality health care for their pets. Our staff is hard working, diligent, well trained, and treat each pet and client as if they were family.
Applicants must have a strong work ethic, preserve a positive personality, capable of communicating effectively as well as active listening, attention to detail, take initiative and be able to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment, have sense of urgency, have the ability to work in harmony with a team, possess a well-rounded technical skill set, and have a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients as well as clients.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes
- Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
- Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
- Perform diagnostic imaging (x-rays)
- Surgical prepping
- Anesthesia administration & monitoring
- Perform dental prophies
- Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable (IM, IV, SQ)
- Drug dosage calculation
- Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
- Communicate with and educate clients
- Provide compassionate patient care
