Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care for animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare, strong customer service skills, and the ability to handle various breeds of dogs and other pets. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for both the animals and staff.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
Assist with administering medications
Handle animals safely and effectively during playtime, bathing and boarding
Support the overall operations of the kennel by performing various tasks as needed.
Requirements
Previous experience in animal care is preferred but not required.
Strong animal handling skills with a focus on safety and comfort for the animals.
Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or moving supplies.
Must be able to handle all size dog breeds and able to walk them on a leash outside for playtime/walks/potty area.
A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
Must be a team players and multitask in a busy environment.
MUST WORK HOLIDAYS/WEEKENDS (SAT AND SUN).
THIS IS NOT A SUMMER JOB. WE ARE SEEKING A FULLTIME PERSON.
