Role Description The Fuel Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Dire Dawa, responsible for managing and optimizing fuel usage to support ethio telecom’s operations. This role involves monitoring fuel inventory levels, coordinating fuel procurement and deliveries, and ensuring proper storage and handling in line with safety and environmental standards. The Fuel Specialist tracks consumption, prepares regular reports, and analyzes data to improve fuel efficiency and reduce wastage. The role also includes inspecting fuel facilities and equipment, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers, and supporting compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of fuel management, including inventory control, storage, and handling procedures.
- Ability to monitor and analyze fuel consumption data and prepare clear, accurate reports.
- Understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to fuel operations.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify and address inefficiencies or risks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in a professional setting.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry; experience with ERP or asset management systems is an advantage.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, engineering, or a related field; prior experience in fuel or fleet management is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site, adapt to operational needs, and uphold ethical and safety standards.
