WHAT YOU WILL DO
Under the direction of the Manager – Alberta, the Forest Technician is responsible for forest inventory plots, forest development activities including reconnaissance road centerline and cutblock boundaries, ecological and riparian assessments, and completing all deliverables in a safe, timely, cost effective and professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
A safety conscious attitude;
Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline;
General understanding and experience with forest operations and forestry practices in Alberta,
Valid driver’s license for 5 years and clean driving record;
Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions;
Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamicteam environment;
Effective problem solving with decision making skills; and,
Registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta Association of Forest Management Professionals, is preferred.
