Empower New Energy is a Norwegian renewable energy investment company operating across Africa and beyond. We are looking for a sharp, driven Financial Analyst to join our Nairobi team and play a central role in how we manage, optimise, and grow our Kenyan portfolio.

Our Kenyan portfolio is growing, and we are looking for a sharp, driven Financial Analyst to join our local team and play a central role in how we manage, optimise, and grow it.
About the Role:
As a Financial Analyst, you will sit at the intersection of financial rigour and strategic decision-making. You will own the financial models that underpin our portfolio, support our relationships with lenders, and help us make smarter investment decisions faster. This is a hands-on role with real visibility. You will work closely with senior management, investors, and project teams across multiple jurisdictions, contributing to everything from quarterly covenant reporting to portfolio-wide optimisation strategies.
Responsibilities:
– Portfolio Analysis and Modelling
ï‚· Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for existing portfolio.
ï‚· Perform ongoing portfolio analysis to assess overall returns and alignment with strategic
objectives and ensure an optimized financing structure.
ï‚· Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to assess the portfolio’s resilience to market
fluctuations, policy changes, and other external factors.
ï‚· Track and analyze key performance indicators for individual assets and the overall portfolio.
ï‚· Lead due diligence process with lenders for project and portfolio refinancing and conduct
scenario analysis to ensure optimal debt sizing and covenant structure.
ï‚· Maintain and update operational models and ensure quarterly covenant reporting of all key
metrics to lenders.
ï‚· Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate the financial performance to
senior management and investors.
ï‚· Support investment proposals and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
ï‚· Analyze market trends and changes in regulatory environment to support investment
decisions.
ï‚· Participate in due diligence processes for potential acquisitions or investments.
ï‚· Build and implement optimization models to identify opportunities for asset allocation,
acquisition, or divestments within the portfolio.
ï‚· Maintain and update liquidity forecasts and resilience scenarios in liaison with Project and
Asset management.
– Data Management and Automation
ï‚· Design and implement processes to collect and integrate asset performance data from
various sources and ensure data quality and consistency.
ï‚· Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations to track and communicate portfolio
performance effectively.
ï‚· Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data workflows.
ï‚· Stay current with developments in modelling techniques and support the implementation of
financial best practices.
Education and required experience:
ï‚· Bachelor in Finance, Economics or related field
ï‚· 3+ years of experience in financial data analysis, financial modelling
ï‚· Relevant accounting qualification and experience (IFRS)
ï‚· Experience in multi-jurisdictional operations
ï‚· Experience from the energy industry preferred

Occasional travel may be expected
