The Opportunity
From operating tractors to tackling fencing projects—both new builds and repairs—you’ll play a hands-on role in keeping the farm running smoothly.
As part of our tight-knit team, your days will be a mix of fencing, general maintenance, tractor work, and occasional stock handling. While the role is primarily focused on fencing and farm upkeep, there will be times you’ll be in the yards working with livestock.
Experience with stock is a bonus, but a willingness to learn and get stuck in is just as important.
The Farm
Parikanapa Station is a 2350ha effective hill country station located in the Waerenga-o-kuri district, 40 minutes from Gisborne. This 28,000su breeding/finishing property runs 9000 lambing ewes and 1050 calving cows as well as finishing 1400 heifers annually.
A wide range of outdoor recreational activities are right at the doorstep. Primary schooling is at Waerenga-o-kuri with the school bus to the gate. Secondary schooling is in Gisborne.
About You
You can adapt and turn your hand to most things on farm, not afraid to get stuck in and get it done. You can work independently, managing your day and enjoy working outdoors.
You Will Also Ideally Have
Experience in fencing, and general maintenance, including water systems – preferred
Ability to operate tractors on hill country
First class attitude to Health and Safety
Current NZ driver’s licence
