About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Farm Supervisor – Rearing & Production to oversee daily poultry farm operations and ensure optimal flock performance, biosecurity compliance, and production efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising farm personnel, monitoring bird health and welfare, maintaining operational records, and supporting the achievement of production targets and key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day poultry farm operations and ensure adherence to operational procedures.
- Monitor flock health, mortality, culling, feed consumption, water intake, and bird behavior.
- Ensure implementation of biosecurity, hygiene, and disease prevention measures across the farm.
- Oversee grading, vaccination, beak trimming, bird distribution, and other flock management activities.
- Monitor environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, ventilation, lighting, litter quality, and water systems.
- Ensure proper feed allocation and adjustment according to flock performance and body weight targets.
- Supervise egg collection, grading, storage, weighing, and dispatch activities.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and operational documentation.
- Coordinate sample collection, including feed, water, blood, and other required testing samples.
- Ensure farm equipment, ventilation systems, heaters, lighting, weighing scales, and other facilities are functioning efficiently.
- Support quality assurance, food safety, environmental management, and audit requirements.
- Train, guide, and supervise farm workers while maintaining performance standards.
- Assist management in achieving production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Poultry Production, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in poultry breeder, rearing, or production operations.
- Proven experience supervising poultry farm activities and managing farm teams.
- Strong understanding of flock management, poultry health, biosecurity, and production systems.
